Suspension Lifted Today!

So, to some this isn't news because you weren't quite aware of it in the first place, but the suspension has been lifted!!! What suspension, you ask? Well, Darryl and I have been in a state of panic for about a month now because Zambia has suspended all international and domestic adoptions because it seems that some were not following all of the county's laws. The suspension happened in December and was only supposed to last three months which is why Darryl and I actively pursued a Zambian adoption. Our hearts are there and it would be awful for us to have to switch programs so we continued along the Zambian adoption path hoping with all of our will that the suspension would be lifted before we had to start informing everyone that because our file went to Zambia a few weeks ago, our adoption was technically on hold. It was hard on us because the suspension was only supposed to last three months and it seems to have lasted 4 and a half. Darryl and I had a very long and hard conversation on Friday about what our cut-off date would be. What date would we stop waiting for the suspension to be lifted and switch our adoption course to another program/country? We love Zambia, all that we know of it and we really didn't want to switch. We decided that August 1st would be the day that if we hadn't heard anything substansial we would make the switch. This conversation was hard for me because it forced us to face the reality of the suspension and moved it from a place of mystery to a very tangible, real place. Since Friday, I have been one very sad mom-to-be. I felt pregnant. My moods have been up and down, my stomach constantly turning and making me nausious. But, today it happened. We received the email from our agency titled "Zambian suspensions have been lifted". My heart sank, my stomach turned and I knew at that moment it would all be ok. We are right on track now and we are now REALLY just waiting for a baby to be born and "referred" to our family.
