Just Thinkin'

Today, as I wallow in self-pity, I am drawn to the following Zambian Statistics. I am humbled by their impact. I stay silent today. I just think. I think about how little I do for others each day. I think about how blessed I am. I do not complain. I do not suffer like others do. I just wait and how bad could that possibly be?

In Zambia alone (an area slightly larger than Texas):

• 920,000 people HIV/AIDS positive
• 130,000 children infected with HIV/AIDS
• 710,000 AIDS Orphans
• 1.2 million Orphans – over 10% of the population
• Over 50% of all Zambian Orphans are a result of AIDS
• 75,000+ ‘street kids’
• 2/3 of the population live on less than a $1 per day
